The future of automotive decarbonization and digitalization

Influenced by the energy crisis, rising oil prices and energy conservation and emission reduction, new energy vehicles have a very large development potential worldwide. Countries and regions such as China, Europe and the U.S. are increasing their efforts to layout new energy vehicles, and many in the industry believe that the development of new energy vehicles will have very high potential in the next decade.

By 2022, state-owned branded vehicles account for nearly half of China's auto market, with the biggest driver coming from new energy vehicles. Because China's supporting infrastructure is progressing well, the popularity of electric vehicles in China is large. With the support of the government and car manufacturers, electric vehicles will see a period of rapid development.

At the same time, the trend from the energy or consumption side is promoting the rapid development of electric vehicles. Governments and car manufacturers have announced timetables for banning the sale of fuel cars. Observing the timetables of countries (regions) banning the sale of fuel cars, we can see a very important time point: 2035.

At the government level, Europe has called for a ban on all fuel vehicles by 2035; China has called for all public transportation vehicles to be electric by 2035, with the vast majority of public transportation vehicles saying goodbye to the fuel era; similarly, certain cities in the U.S. and Canada have similar requirements. Therefore, between now and 2035, the world will see the rapid development of new energy vehicles.

At the level of the world's major car manufacturers, including Audi, BMW, Volkswagen, Honda, BYD and other car companies, they have long been planning to stop producing fuel cars. These companies all have their own roadmaps and have already started implementing plans to stop producing fuel vehicles.
